demo

The debris-filled lot at 2nd and Leigh, formerly the site of the Eggleston Hotel, will be cleared beginning today. No word yet on who actually ended up paying for Saturday’s demolition.

City pays for it, bill the owner. Unless, of course, the owner was able to find a wrecking company on a Saturday at the last minute.

@Jose – the city contracts that out, too. The guy was lined up on Saturday, but neither the owner nor the the city were keen to come up with the $25K to clear the lot.
