News in our neighborhood is BIG news here.  To the other guys (the RTD, local TV news), it’s just a blip in their radar and frequently not even reported.  A previous example was highlighted here when there was triple shooting in Gilpin that rated a 100 word story on page 5 of the Times-Dispatch.  A similar pattern was followed in Friday’s drug bust on Moore Street.  I spent 10 minutes watching NBC12 expecting a reporter on the scene leading the newscast.  After the obligitory weather report, they went on to air videos from Florida, Colorado and Missouri featuring stupid criminals.  After a few other “human interest” reports, all from other states, I gave up watching.  The Time-Dispatch did another brief slug on page two of the Metro section.  This is why we are here, to report news that is important to the neighborhood.  I can guarantee you that a triple shooting here will always be big news here.
